A graduate of Georgetown University with a degree in English Literature and later the University of Chicago Divinity School, Steve’s work is grounded in a humanistic tradition that values careful listening, thoughtful dialogue and respect for complexity. He believes the most meaningful philanthropic decisions emerge not from urgency or pressure, but from shared understanding, purpose and trust.
Today, Steve works with client families and organizations to create structured, supportive spaces where values can be examined, perspectives appreciated and charitable priorities clarified over time. He often describes his role less as directing outcomes and more as cultivating the conditions in which alignment and generosity can take root, particularly across generations.
At this stage of his career, Steve’s focus is on stewardship: of relationships, of values and of philanthropy in service of the common good.
